Summary: In this study, the thermal and hygrometric behavior was analyzed, in the summer and
winter seasons, in different points of the Regional Goiabeiras and Jardim da Penha in the
municipality of Vitória (ES), using the fixed and mobile transect technique. The choice
of measurement points sought to express the different attributes of the site on which the
city of Vitória is based, focusing on the diversity of urban functions and morphologies
and their dynamism. For this research, the mobile transects technique was used, with six
data collections being carried out, three on 03/17/2019, equivalent to the summer season,
at 9:00 am, 3:00 pm, 8:00 pm, and another three on 09/22/20 2019, corresponding to the
winter season, at the same times as the previous collection, both under the operation of
the Upper Subtropical South Atlantic (ASAS). A land use and land cover map was also
prepared based on data provided by the Espírito Santo Agricultural and Forestry Defense
Institute (IDAF) and the Jones do Santos Neves Institute (IJSN), which made it possible
to correlate the areas corresponding to the heating and cooling nuclei with the influence
of the urban fabric. The analysis showed that the changes in land use and coverage,
derived from urban activities and structures, associated with relief characteristics, and the
proximity to the coast, influence air temperature variables and relative air humidity. It
was also possible to evidence the influence of maritime nature on urban topoclimatic
behavior, especially in the morning and evening hours, as well as it was possible to notice
the influence of the buildings barrier on the beach edge.
